This past week, I was asked to provide feedback and personal insights on current challenges being faced with internal adoption of social platforms in the enterprise market. As some of you already know, I also consult with startups and small businesses on the side, so part of my feedback was based on SMB/startup experience.
The discussion also sparked other related topics such as cultural paradigms, human resource management and even the business models of tomorrow.
I’ll definitely share my thoughts in upcoming earnedweb project, which I will be launching soon (as soon as I balance my current project influx).
But for starters, as an idealist, I will point out that any organization that wishes to remain in business in the next 10 years will need to become social, collaborative and agile. The agility is the key component in being social, being able to tap into the collective wisdom found within the intranet to compete against the faster, cheaper and younger startup doing the same thing is the only way.
What an enterprise has its advantage can only be utilized once it truly becomes a culture that promotes sharing — not information hoarding. This also keeps you hungry and sharp.
As a change agent, what do you think?
