Who would’ve thought that our little search engine would grow into the mean kid on the block? Google turns 10 officially but I am still not sure of the exact date. According to mashable, the exact date of Google’s conception is unknown and it is done on purpose for marketing purposes.

And, while some have written about it almost a month ago, only now Google is officially “celebrating” its birthday by releasing a special tenth anniversary page , featuring an interactive timeline of the company’s history.

They’ve also launched Project 10100 , described as “a call for ideas to change the world by helping as many people as possible.

I think its a quite a nice and emotionally charged PR move to connect Google with the masses. Maybe Microsoft should’ve done somethign like this instead of wasting billions on Sienfeld/Bill Gates fiasco?

NEW YORK - JUNE 23: Google co-founder Sergey Brin opens the internet company's new office space inside historic Chelsea Market June 23, 2008 in New York City. The new space, which is across the street from the older Google office, will house around 300 employees bringing the total number of Google employees in New York City to around 1,500.
