H ave you ever wondered about Web 2.0 and what it means to you? I know I am guilty of thinking about its past, present and the future direction. It has moved us away from traditional static delivery platform to the current ever-changing dynamic platform that enables us to have two way conversations , collaborate effectively and increase our productivity.

We had lost our sense of community during the industrial era, however, with the transformation of the web 2.0, communities are being fostered. Organizations have started collaborating, information is no longer kept in filing cabinets, it is being shared freely and even "Joe" has a voice and can be heard. No longer can one entity dictate their ‘preferred’ view of a certain process.

I know I have talked about this previously as well in my ‘future of web‘ post. Here’s an IBM’s view of Web 2.0. We know there is more to the web 2.0 than Youtube, Flickr and Facebook, right?

Check it out and let me know if it resonates with your or not. Future of Web 2.0 as dictated by increased productivity, collaboration and information exchange on business platforms. Lotus fits well in this picture.

  • Web 2.0 also allows us to learn more about human instincts and how ironic is it that we are now socializing more through this so called once 'anti-social' platform.
