Newest Blackberry Bold OS – 4.6.0.451/4.6.0.266

If you use Blackberry’s flagship Bold model (sorry Storm is not a real blackberry :) ) , there is a new OS release available now.  Most providers (like mine – Rogers) are slow to release updates to their own branded phones, so this is the only way to fix bugs, optimize and run a better OS for the phone.

Instructions to Load this OS onto any carriers 9000:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It’s located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

This process takes anywhere from 2–45 minutes. DO NOT UNPLUG the device until the loading operation is finished.If for some reason you get a white screen with a ’507′ Error or another error please see this guide on How-To Recover a Bricked Berry

People are reporting that this update frees up more memory and is far more stable than previous ‘official’ releases from any of the providers.
