Sneak Preview: Check your Lotus Notes email on the Android!

According to analyst firm IDC, there will be more than one billion mobile workers worldwide by year end 2010.

We are announcing the beta availability of Lotus Notes on the Google Android phones. If you have been following my blog, you have surely checked out the availability of Lotus Notes on the iPhone and iPad. Now it’s Android’s turn. Additionally, my friends in Lotus Connections tell me that the next version will support Android as well.

Like our other versions, Lotus Notes Traveler for Android will be a no-charge software that can be downloaded by Lotus Notes customers and provides two-way, over-the-air synchronization of information between Lotus Domino and mobile devices.

The software allows Lotus Notes users who synchronize their Domino mail, calendar, contacts via Lotus Notes Traveler to view that data on the devices that run the Android 2.0 or higher operating system. This includes the Droid, Nexus One and many other devices.

    The link in your post still takes me to the IBM homepage….so I can’t find the information I am looking for.

    I have the latest traveler code installed…but the Motorola Droid gives an error during installation.

    Is there any information on support during the beta pilot program?

    As a European IBMer, will this be available as a w3 download? Is there a need / solution to get through the IBM firewall, like the ATT dialler for laptops?

      There is a closed beta in works as we speak. Jan Kenny is leading that.

    Hi, is there any chance to get the beta version for testing?

    Thanks

    Hi. I’m thinking about to buy a android phone with a keyboard. And on top of my list i see the SonyEricsson Xperia Mini Pro, which runs android 1.6 at the moment, but they have announced an uppgrade to 2.1 in sep.

    I work for an IBM distributor in Sweden and i want to have my mail with me all the time. And I’m really curios abut the android platform.

    So, i have two questions;

    1) When, approx, do we have a full and stable version on Lotus Traveler for android and

    2) Can i sign up for a beta version and install it on SE Xperia Mini Pro?

    BR
