The Sixteenth Annual IBM Lotus Awards are open for nominations and well underway. The Awards will be presented to IBM business partners who have dedicated their time and energy to building innovative solutions using Lotus software portfolfio. If you have a neat solution available, please feel welcome to nomitate yourself.

In 2010 we will be recognizing IBM Business Partners worldwide in 14 categories, including three new categories; IBM Lotus Marketing Award, Best End-User Solution Award and Best Open Source Contribution.

    You know exactly who I am talking about! The IT guy that works 26 hours a day, the one who you go to for anything and everything. Heck, the one that does your laundary and also provides you with *sound* relationship advice on top. The guy who deserves a raise but never gets one due to the ‘economic’ enviornment. This award is for you.

    Or Maybe it might be you. Why not send a customized version to your manager to remind him.

    As Todd Watson, one of our IBM Web Gurus, calls it..

    You, who toil away in obscurity down in the server room while the suits sit upstairs and figure out new ways to make you wish you had gone into a line of work that would have been much safer for your sanity, like salmon fishing in the frozen waters off Alaska.

    You, who work to submit a so-called realistic budget, each and every fall, on time, with all the boxes checked, and still, the VP of marketing who couldn’t find his way to an RSS feed if he had a handheld Garmin, always cuts it 25% before he even opens the spreadsheet.

    You, who hasn’t had a real lunch break in years because you’re too busy answering idiotic calls on the help desk only to have people call you back and yell at you as though you’re IT Satan himself, because they’re too frickin’ stupid to find a blatantly obvious power button…and then they wonder why you have a bad attitude.

    You, who have somehow managed not to go postal on them, when you probably had every right to.

    This award is for you.

    P.S. Fingers crossed, I’ll have another one for Lotusphere. This one goes out to IOD2009!
