The Original ThinkPad

Thinkpad Original Classic

This is the notepad (the pencil and paper kind) that in the late 80s / early 90s inspired an IBM researcher to name the company’s new mobile computer the ThinkPad. To me, the IBM ThinkPad was the classic laptop computer to have. At least that was the case until I went full time Apple and the Chinese got a hold of the brand. At any rate, it is interesting to see the little promotional give-away that inspired a massive brand.

Cool, I did not know that. My first thinkpad was a 770X, about 10,5 years ago. The price of this masterpiece was about 5500 Euro… It’s a pitty that we gave up that business, even if I’m therefore now able to use a Mac @ IBM :-)

Things are changing… The only constant in my IT-life: Lotus Notes. I could not even think about changing that!

You know what, I haven’t even explored the mac option at IBM. I wonder what are the requirements. Hmm
